so i’m recording the guitar to ‘sound sleeper’ today. in fact, i just got the take! yippee! im gonna go back over and maybe do a thing here or there, but its all in time and w/ the full form and everything so i am syked! this tune is probably the most real ‘song’ that i have i think. it has a bunch of parts, diff. melodies and is 4 1/2 mins, which is the longest tune i’ve done so far. werdwerd.
the big reason i be bloggin is because i have a new recording technique update that is cool! so i have this small lil p.o.s. amp that i thought i could use, but alas, it was having some feedback or something/i was doing it in the bathroom(thats what she said) and there was the sound of the toilet running which was wack since there are pauses/breaks in the song. sooooooo, i just set up in the main apt. area and decided to do a direct in thru the preamp, and mic the guitar acoustically. the reason this works is because the guitar im using (robs) is a hollow body (i think) guitar, so there is much natural character to the guitar. so since its kinda like an acoustic/elec in a certain sense, i was able to split the signal and pan it and its dope! this is also huge because i wasnt exactly what tone i wanted; i feel like i could hear both acou/elec on it, but i didnt want to track seperate acou/elec tracks like ive done with other songs, so this is actually f’ing awesome.

umm, the doves also rule. peepin there album ‘some cities’ and its got some really ill shit. really produced which is cool from a otherwise ‘straight’ rock band or whatever. cool.
